Pierre Karlsson is a Swedish-born guitarist and songwriter who has lived in Los Angeles for the past 13 years. Peter was influenced early on by many American rock bands/artists like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Crows, The Doors, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, Rage Against the Machine, Primus and many others. His own band, Fishlips, placed first in a national music competition in Sweden. In addition, Peter toured and recorded with various rock bands in Sweden.
Pierre graduated from the prestigious Guitar Institute of Technology within The Musicians Institute in 1999, receiving an award for Best Recording Project. During his tenure at MI, he had the opportunity to study with such esteemed artists as Scott Henderson, Robben Ford, Carl Verheyen and Paul Gilbert.
Pierre collaborated on projects with producers such as Daniel Mendez (Lit, Dashboard Confessional) and Billy Sullivan (Trekkies, The Nature Of
Existence). He’s been a popular teacher for guitar, mandolin, and ukulele in for more than 15 years, and remains an active, sought-after performer and studio musician.
Pierre sidelined on the movie I Love You Man, and you can also hear his playing in the movie The Nature of Existence and on the TV show “Curb Your Enthusiasm. Other credits include Night School with Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, and sessions with diverse artists including Benny Mardones, Dona Oxford, Rob Brill (Paul McCartney), and Billy Sullivan (Trekkies).
Pierre also wrote music for Ted Nugent’s reality show, Running Wild on Country Music Television. He’s also been featured on many television shows including Sing Like a Star, Daily Blast, Evidence of Innocence, and Xploration Awesome Planet.
