Begoña Bilbao is a Venezuelan pianist and soprano distinguished for her versatility, expressive artistry, and dedication to musical excellence. She began her musical education in Caracas, Venezuela, at the Prudencio Esaá School of Music, where she studied piano under Arnaldo Pizzolante and voice under Francisco Krauss and Luis Contreras, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Music (1992). She later completed a Master’s Program in Voice Performance at Brooklyn College of Music, New York (1998), under the tutelage of Tom Cultice.

As a pianist, Begoña’s career began early, winning an Honorable Mention at the Moisés Moleiro Piano Competitionin Caracas. Her performances have included solo recitals and chamber music collaborations across Venezuela and the United States. She has performed with chamber orchestras and served as the pianist for the first Broadway production in Caracas“La Historia de un Caballo” by Tolstoy.

Throughout her career, she has accompanied many of Venezuela’s most renowned singers, including Violeta Alemán, Luis Contreras, and Francisco Krauss, and has performed with the Colburn School of Music Student Orchestra in Los Angeles. Her interpretations are celebrated for their lyrical phrasing, refined technique, and emotional depth.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, Begoña has dedicated much of her career to piano education and music instruction. She has taught at the Prudencio Esaá School of Music and the Juan José Landaeta Conservatory in Caracas, Venezuela—two of the country’s most respected musical institutions—where she mentored numerous students who have gone on to professional careers in music.

Parallel to her piano career, Begoña is also an accomplished operatic soprano, performing leading roles in La Traviata, Tosca, Manon Lescaut, Aida, and Rigoletto, among others. Critics have praised her performances for their dramatic intensity and vocal brilliance, particularly in the Los Angeles opera scene.

Beyond the stage, Begoña combines her artistic and humanitarian passions as an Instructor at the Fundación Internacional René Mey (Mexico), contributing to programs focused on emotional medicine, education, and human development.

She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication (Journalism) from the Central University of Venezuela, reflecting her broad intellectual formation and commitment to using the arts as a tool for empathy, education, and social impact.
