As a classically trained cellist, Robert Willes specializes in all things strings and has toured and given solo performances throughout Europe and Asia. After graduating from Brigham Young University in cello performance and New York University with a master’s degree in music technology, Robert worked as a consultant and head audio technician at the United Nations, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund. Since leaving his role as an audio technician, he has freelanced as a full-time session cellist, composer, and producer. Robert has worked on short films, web series, and commercials for a global audience. His eclectic tastes and musical pursuits—having toured in indie folk bands, performed and recorded with an avante-garde jazz ensemble and wide-selling pop acts, and composed and orchestrated full orchestral pieces for film—have informed and broadened the depth and palette of his musical creations.
